Read Telegram Channels

Your AI reads and exports messages from your Telegram channels and groups for financial news and market research, using the tdl CLI. Turn Telegram feeds into research-ready exports, filter by date or channel, and see what's new in your trading or crypto chats.

What is this skill?

Financial professionals and market researchers often rely on Telegram channels and groups for the latest news, trading signals, and community sentiment. With this skill, your AI can directly read your Telegram channels and groups, list all your chats, and export messages for analysis—making it much easier to keep up with fast-moving markets and gather insights from exclusive channels. Anyone tracking crypto, trading, or financial news on Telegram will save time and never miss an important update.

What you can do

  • List all your Telegram channels, groups, and contacts with filtering (e.g., "Show me all my crypto channels").
  • Export recent messages from any channel or group you've joined ("Export the last 50 messages from @tradingalpha").
  • Fetch messages from a specific time period or by message ID range ("Get all messages from last week in CryptoNews").
  • Search for channels by name or type ("Find all channels with 'signals' in the name").
  • Monitor multiple financial news feeds at once and summarize new posts.

How it works

When you ask your AI to check your Telegram or export messages, it uses the tdl CLI tool to access your Telegram account (after a one-time login with QR code or phone number). The AI lists your available chats, searches for the right channel or group, and runs export commands to fetch messages according to your filters—by date, ID, or count. The results are returned as structured text or files, ready for further analysis or reporting.

Good to know

  • Requires tdl installed on your system and a one-time login using your Telegram mobile app (scan QR code).
  • Works only on platforms where CLI tools can run (not Claude.ai web sandbox).
  • Read-only: cannot send messages, join/leave channels, or perform any write actions.
  • Your Telegram session persists after login, so you won't need to authenticate each time.
