Read Any Site with OpenCLI

Your AI fetches data from any site opencli supports—finance news, communities, research, podcasts, and more—when no dedicated skill exists. Covers Reddit, Bloomberg, Eastmoney, HackerNews, Substack, arXiv, and 100+ others. Read-only.

Try asking: “Read Reddit r/wallstreetbets for today’s top posts”

What is this skill?

Sometimes you need to pull data from finance sites, communities, research repositories, or content platforms that don’t have a dedicated AI skill. With this generic opencli-reader, your AI can fetch information from over 100 sources—including Yahoo Finance, Bloomberg, Reuters, Eastmoney, Xueqiu, Reddit, HackerNews, Substack, arXiv, Bilibili, and more. It’s the universal fallback for market headlines, sentiment, research, or content discovery when a specialized reader isn’t available.

What you can do

  • Read finance news and data: "Get Bloomberg markets headlines" or "Fetch Eastmoney hot stocks."
  • Monitor communities and sentiment: "Read Reddit r/wallstreetbets" or "Grab the HackerNews front page."
  • Pull newsletters and blogs: "List my Substack feed" or "Fetch Medium trending posts."
  • Search research repositories: "Search arXiv for LLM papers."
  • Browse podcasts and video: "Show top Apple Podcasts in finance" or "Browse Bilibili hot."
  • Fetch content from commerce or supply-chain sites: "List Amazon bestsellers in electronics."

How it works

When you request data from a supported site, your AI discovers the right opencli adapter and command at runtime, then runs it in read-only mode. It parses the results, returning summaries, tables, or highlights as appropriate. If a dedicated skill exists (for X, LinkedIn, Discord, Telegram, or YC), it routes your request there instead.

Good to know

  • Requires Node.js 20+ and, for browser-backed adapters, Chrome with the Browser Bridge extension and an active login to the target site.
  • Works only on CLI-based agents (Claude Code, etc.), not on Claude.ai web.
  • Strictly read-only—never runs write, post, or message commands.
  • Reference files document adapter discovery and finance-relevant sources.
