What is this skill?
Finding high-probability growth stock entries is a challenge, especially for traders seeking superperformance setups. With this skill, your AI applies Mark Minervini’s SEPA (Specific Entry Point Analysis) methodology to any stock, delivering a full readiness check: trend template, stage analysis, base patterns, pivot points, and risk-based position sizing. Growth investors, swing traders, and anyone learning Minervini’s approach will benefit from instant, actionable analysis—whether you’re screening for setups, timing a breakout, or asking if a stock is a buy.
What you can do
- Stage Analysis: "What stage is NVDA in?" returns Stage 2/3/4 status and base count.
- Trend Template Check: "Does CELH meet the trend template?" gives a checklist of all 8 Minervini conditions.
- Pattern Recognition: "Is there a VCP or cup-with-handle on ELF?" identifies key base patterns.
- Pivot and Buy Zone: "Where is the pivot for TMDX?" shows the buy point, buy zone, and required breakout volume.
- Fundamental Grading: "How are the fundamentals for ONON?" grades EPS, revenue, margins, and institutional sponsorship.
- Position Sizing: "How many shares to buy with 1% risk?" calculates size, stop loss, and pyramiding plan.
How it works
When you request a SEPA analysis, your AI fetches price and fundamentals (using yfinance if available), determines the stock’s current stage, and checks if it meets all 8 trend template rules (moving averages, price position, relative strength). It scans for VCP, cup-with-handle, flat base, and flag patterns, then calculates the pivot point and buy zone. Fundamentals are graded against Minervini’s criteria, and position sizing is calculated based on your risk tolerance. The AI also adapts its recommendations to the current market environment (bull, choppy, bear).
Good to know
- No special setup required; works best with real-time data access.
- All analysis is for educational purposes only and not financial advice.
- Reference files cover every SEPA component, from pattern rules to position sizing formulas.

--- name: sepa-strategy description: Analyze stocks with Mark Minervini's SEPA (Specific Entry Point Analysis) methodology: stage analysis, the 8-condition trend template, fundamentals, VCP and other base patterns, pivot-point entries, market environment, and risk-based position sizing. Use this skill whenever the user mentions SEPA, Minervini, superperformance, the trend template, VCP (volatility contraction pattern), Stage 2, pivot or breakout entries, moving-average stacking (price above the 50/150/200-day MAs), breakout volume, position sizing from risk percentage, growth-stock screening or swing-trade entry criteria, or bases such as cup-with-handle, flat base, bull flag, or high tight flag. Also use it when the user asks "should I buy this stock" or "is this a good setup" about a growth or momentum name, or shares a chart for pattern analysis. ---
