Options Payoff Chart

Turn any options position or strategy into an interactive payoff chart with sliders for strikes, premium, IV, DTE, and spot. Your AI visualizes expiry P&L and Black-Scholes value for spreads, butterflies, straddles, and custom structures.

Try asking: “Show the payoff chart for a TSLA iron condor expiring next Friday”

What is this skill?

Visualizing how an options strategy makes or loses money can be confusing, especially with multi-leg structures or changing market conditions. Once your AI has this skill, it instantly generates interactive payoff charts for any described options position. This is invaluable for traders, investors, and anyone learning options—whether you're pasting broker screenshots, describing a custom spread, or just want to see the risk and reward at a glance.

What you can do

  • See expiry and theoretical payoff curves: "Show me the payoff for a bull call spread on AAPL" displays both the expiration P&L and current Black-Scholes value.
  • Interactively adjust parameters: Use sliders for strikes, premiums, IV, DTE, and spot price to see real-time impact on the payoff.
  • Analyze complex strategies: Visualize butterflies, iron condors, calendar and diagonal spreads, ratio spreads, and more.
  • Handle broker screenshots or pasted trades: Upload or describe your position from IBKR, TastyTrade, or Robinhood for instant charting.
  • Get key stats: Max profit, max loss, breakevens, and current P&L at spot are all shown alongside the chart.
  • Custom structures supported: If your strategy isn’t standard, the AI decomposes it into legs and sums the P&Ls.

How it works

When you describe an options strategy or paste trade details, your AI parses the legs, identifies the strategy type, and calculates both the intrinsic value at expiration and the theoretical value using the Black-Scholes model. It then renders an interactive HTML widget with dynamic sliders for all key parameters. As you move the sliders, the chart and stats update instantly, helping you understand risk and reward under different scenarios. For non-standard trades, it switches to a custom mode, summing each leg’s payoff.

Good to know

  • Works on Claude.ai (with the built-in show_widget tool) or on Claude Code with the generative-ui skill.
  • No separate installation steps required if using the main finance-skills plugin.
  • Reference files include formulas for all supported strategies and a Black-Scholes JS implementation.
