MOSCOW, 2026 — THE UNION STILL EXISTS
30 seconds | 16:9 | hyper-realistic alternate-history recreation | documentary realism | MULTISHOT
FICTIONAL ALTERNATE-HISTORY DRAMATIZATION — An original cinematic reconstruction imagining an alternate timeline in which the Soviet Union never dissolved in 1991. The story follows a fictional ordinary Moscow resident experiencing a normal winter morning in 2026. The USSR has continued evolving for 35 years, retaining its national identity, political institutions, architecture and cultural traditions while adapting to modern technology. Do not recreate any specific scene, character, dialogue, camera composition, or sequence from any existing film.
CORE CONCEPT
A 28-year-old Moscow resident wakes up on an ordinary January morning in 2026. He lives with his wife in a modest apartment, commutes to work using the Moscow metro, buys groceries and walks through his neighbourhood.
Nothing about his daily routine feels extraordinary to him. But the world surrounding him is fundamentally different from our reality.
The Soviet Union still exists. Soviet flags fly above government buildings, the ruble remains the national currency, state institutions continue operating and the country's enormous residential districts have evolved into modern urban environments.
The story emphasizes ordinary civilian life in a surviving Soviet Union rather than military power or political spectacle. The audience discovers this alternate reality through familiar everyday experiences.
SETTING
Moscow, Soviet Union — January 2026.
A contemporary Soviet capital during a freezing winter morning.
Large Soviet residential apartment complexes, monumental government architecture, underground metro stations, neighbourhood grocery stores, electric buses, modern railway infrastructure, public squares and busy commercial streets.
The city combines recognisable Soviet architectural heritage with contemporary urban development.
Snow covers sidewalks, parked vehicles and apartment rooftops. Warm apartment windows contrast with the cold morning atmosphere. Commuters move through the city, children walk to school and public transport operates normally.
The city must feel inhabited, functional and culturally authentic rather than a preserved historical museum.

CAMERA
Large-format historical cinema camera language combined with embedded contemporary documentary realism. 24mm for urban scale and architectural environments, 35mm for movement and daily activities, 50mm for domestic interactions and human observation, 85mm for intimate details. Handheld shoulder-mounted movement, natural camera shake, imperfect framing, realistic focus changes and atmospheric obstruction from winter haze. No modern drone aesthetic, no impossible camera movement.
LIGHTING
Natural winter morning light in Moscow, cold overcast atmosphere, pale blue-grey daylight, warm apartment interiors, practical fluorescent lighting inside grocery stores and metro stations, realistic reflections from snow-covered streets and subtle atmospheric haze. No theatrical spotlighting.
PHYSICS
Realistic pedestrian movement, winter clothing interaction, snow accumulation, vehicle movement, metro operation, steam from hot beverages, natural wind behaviour, footsteps on snow and realistic environmental reflections. Characters move naturally through the environment. No impossible movement or artificial physics.
HUMAN PERFORMANCE
Every character behaves like an ordinary person going about their daily routine. MAIN CHARACTER appears naturally tired in the morning and remains focused on getting to work. His wife prepares breakfast without staged interaction. Background civilians display independent behaviour, realistic walking speeds, natural gestures and believable social interactions. No theatrical acting, exaggerated expressions or synchronized choreography.
AUDIO
Authentic Moscow winter urban soundscape: distant vehicle engines, electric bus movement, footsteps on snow, apartment heating pipes, kettle boiling, quiet domestic conversation, metro announcements in Russian, train movement, grocery store conversations, newspaper handling and distant traffic. Extremely restrained background music, secondary to environmental sound.
VISUAL CHARACTER
Photorealistic live-action alternate-history documentary cinematography. Contemporary urban realism combined with authentic Soviet architectural identity. Natural skin texture, realistic winter clothing, believable apartment interiors, detailed grocery products, functional public infrastructure, realistic snow, atmospheric depth, subtle film grain and natural highlight halation. No plastic skin, no videogame appearance, no artificial CGI city.
COLOR GRADE
Muted Soviet-inspired urban palette. Cold blue-grey winter atmosphere, faded concrete, olive-green architectural details, restrained red Soviet flags, warm amber apartment windows, natural skin tones and realistic snow whites. Slightly desaturated documentary appearance while maintaining natural colors.
HISTORICAL REALISM
Historically grounded Soviet architecture, national symbolism, Cyrillic language, cultural traditions, residential layouts, metro design and public institutions.
The alternate timeline must plausibly evolve from the historical USSR into 2026. Contemporary smartphones, electric buses, modern vehicles, digital displays, clothing and consumer technology must appear naturally integrated into Soviet society.
No futuristic science-fiction technology, no modern Russian Federation national symbols, no incorrect national flags, no anachronistic historical costumes or frozen 1980s environments.
CONTINUITY
MAIN CHARACTER, his wife, clothing, smartphone, work bag, apartment layout and physical appearance remain consistent across all shots. The same Moscow winter environment, snow conditions, lighting direction and time of morning remain consistent. The apartment, residential neighbourhood, grocery store, metro station and public square must feel geographically connected to the same city. No sudden wardrobe changes, duplicated characters or inconsistent architectural details.
FINAL QUALITY TARGET
The footage should feel like an extraordinarily realistic documentary filmed inside an alternate version of Moscow in January 2026.
The audience should recognise the ordinary details of modern urban life but gradually discover that the Soviet Union never dissolved.
There should be no exaggerated dystopian atmosphere, no military spectacle and no unnecessary political exposition.
The realism comes from everyday civilian behaviour, authentic Soviet cultural identity, contemporary urban infrastructure, believable domestic environments, natural winter conditions and documentary cinematography.
The final impression should leave the audience with one question:
What would our world look like if the Soviet Union had never disappeared?
